Needs of Client: The Capital Health District had engaged Semaphor Design Company of Halifax to design a comprehensive wayfinding and signage package for this new hospital in the Halifax Region. Semaphor and Capital Health needed a savvy partner to produce and install the required interior signage and wayfinding system components.
- Accessibility signage and easy to maintain wayfinding system
- A "living sign" system - modular insert signage that could be updated by office staff using ink-jet printers
- Custom paint matches on all signage to be consistent with all Capital Health signage and branding throughout the region.
Solution:
- Fabricate the custom designed BrailliantTouch® accessible insert signs for over 300 individual hospital rooms
- Provide Braille and tactile signage for stairwells, exits, elevators and areas of refuge
